Interesting to know
- The main thing is regularity. Set aside 30 minutes a day or 2 times for 15 minutes. It can be on the road, or before going to bed, or during breakfast.
- Read short stories, write out unknown words, start learning them.
- You can listen to songs or watch short videos with subtitles.
- Memorize the phrases you hear, repeat them aloud. Try to apply them in conversation as much as possible. It doesn't matter if the other person knows the language :)
- Get acquainted with the rules of grammar, this will allow you to understand the patterns of certain turns.
- And learn the words! The larger is your vocabulary, the easier it is to understand what you hear and read.
Information in context is remembered much more effectively. Therefore, when memorizing the words, it is necessary to see their application in texts or phrases.
These studies were conducted by Hermann Ebbinghaus in 1885. As he found out, up to 60 percent of the memorized information can be forgotten within the first hour, after 10 hours there are about 35%, and after a week - only 20%.
The information is best remembered at the very beginning and at the end of the material.
In order to remember information for a long time, it must be repeated as soon as it is on the verge of forgetting.
Repetition intervals are calculated using the Ebbinghaus forgetting curve. There are aproximate intervals recommended between repetitions: after 1 minute, after 30 minutes, after 2 hours, after 8 hours, after a day, then after 5 days, 3 weeks, 2 months.

- Break down the words by topic. This improves memorization because it associates with the context;
- Practice regularly, in a certain rhythm. The brain gets into the habit of working efficiently;
- Repeat the words at regular intervals (see Interval Repetitions);
- Don't learn too many words at once. The optimal amount is 10-20 until complete memorization;
- Use flashcards with the word on one side and translation on the other;
- Speak out words and phrases aloud;
- Get to know the usage examples;
- Write vocabulary dictation;
- Take regular tests and quizes with the foreighn words;
- Try to use new words in speech, build phrases.
